While most of us thought that Film City is all about a sprawling space packed with studios and open-air sets, it’s not common knowledge that it is home to some scenic natural settings.
Lush hills, lakes and much flora and fauna are standing out in all their glory, what with the kind of rain we’ve received! Capitalising on this setting is The Mud Rush 2016 – an exciting event that’s being hosted on Saturday, September 24th. In the heart of beautiful surroundings, is where over 15,000 participants will find their inner beauty – of strength, stamina and sensibility.
Ajay Prajapati, MD, The Mud Rush Adventurous Pvt. Ltd., is rather excited about the fourth edition of this challenging and fun-packed event. “Over the last five or six years, there has been not just an increase in physical fitness enthusiasts but also in sporting activities in India. IPL, Kabaddi tournaments and football leagues have given physical sporting events quite a boost. While these have viewers and spectators watching and cheering for the players, The Mud Rush makes the participants themselves emerge as pros and as winners.”
After hugely successful editions in Kolad, Fort Jadhavgadh and Silvassa, The Mud Rush has been sending a very significant message out – that physical fitness has been on the rise, enthusiasts are willing to take on challenges to prove their mettle by combining it with their intelligence and that they’re having a blast in doing all of this! As every participant who completes the Rush gets a medal, the focus is not on winning but on bringing yourself to the event and pushing your limits to see yourself win against your own odds. As Prajapati puts it, “Everyone is a winner.” This sure makes for a refreshingly different event. Yes, even with all the muddy affairs of state, it’s refreshingly different!
Borivali east resident, actor Vinod Singh’s excitement is infectious. “The Mud Rush is a crazy but fun event. While I am someone who likes extreme thrills like bungee jumping and sky diving, let me tell you that The Mud Rush is for anyone who likes to test his or her physical limits. The obstacles are great fun and overcoming them solely depends on how you apply your head – plan your tactics efficiently,” he says.
Incidentally, The Mud Rush has participants across all age groups, starting at eight years. The participation also includes at least 35 per cent women. Pooja Bhoir, a participant from last year, is also looking forward to The Mud Rush at Film City on Saturday.
Aditya Bose, Head of Events at Cox and Kings (main sponsor of The Mud Rush 2016), tells us why his company is a willing supporter of this adventure festival. “An event like this signifies a bright future – young, spirited people at heart make the base of The Mud Rush – that’s what excites us as a company,” he states. “We have a lot of experiential properties in Cox and Kings. This association adds value to our forthcoming properties.”
So if you love combining your physical and mental skills to create a hell of a time for yourself, head to The Mud Rush at Film City on Saturday morning. There are newer, “crazier” obstacles added this year. If you like to have your adrenaline pumped at second hand, just go be a happy spectator. For everyone else, there are many more activities like live music bands, flea market stalls and food-and-beverage set-ups.
