Oberoi Film Festival

Oberoi Film Festival 2017 is being organised by grade 12 students of Oberoi International School.
It is a competitive event, where young filmmakers from across Mumbai have submitted their short films on the theme, Life is tough, but so are we.
Movie with the Dogs
Venue: Pawfect Life, Andheri E
Timing: 7 pm
Woof woof! Friday night a movie night with the pets. Sounds good?
Movie with the Dogs welcomes pet parents and pet lovers to come chill with the resident pets and watch the movie A Dog’s Purpose and snack on food along with feeding the pets delicious treats.

Dot Mandala Workshop, Mumbai
Venue: Durva Art Academy, Andheri W
Timing: 9 am – 1 pm
A 4-hour workshop that teaches you this aboriginal art form of Australia in the most contemporary and in an easy-to-do method.
Not only do you get to choose your own Dot Painting design but also have the best guidance in creating a masterpiece by artist Durva Talati.
The workshop is open for all – beginners and amatuers. No expereince in drawing or painting is needed. You will be provided with all the art materials & the guidance needed to paint your designs on canvas with acrylic paints.

Shibori is a Japanese manual resist dyeing technique, which produces patterns on fabric. Learn the process of shibori dyeing at the Shibori Workshop by Ritika Jhujhunwala and apply them on your sample pieces!
A technique typically consisting of folding, twisting, pleating a garment and binding with string or rubber bands, followed by application of dyes.
List of materials inclusive – Cotton sample fabric,clamps,thread,gloves,dyes,dye fixer,a study manual.
Charges include all materials and a pint of beer or house fries with a mocktail or pancakes with tea or coffee.
Good wives, virgins and other women in myth

The Talking Myths Project is an initiative by three professionals, Dr Vidya Kamat, Arundhuti Dasgupta and Utkarsh Patel who bring their experiences from diverse professional backgrounds to a common, abiding passion for the stories, philosophies, cultural motifs that underlie our ancient world.
The project is setting up an online archive of the myths, legends and folktales of the subcontinent, and their live talks in comparative mythology are part of the project’s interactive audience engagement efforts. Here the speakers explore different mythological themes through a selection of stories, symbols and recurring motifs.
Draupadi, Ahalya, Kunti, Tara, Sita – who were these women? What were their roles and how are they relevant to us today. A look at some well-known and some hidden figures from the epics, puranas and other forms of traditional literature that explore the significance of women in societies past and present.
Garba Workshop 2017
